WOMEN IN MAIZE S1_2024
Empowering Women in Maize Farming
Summary: This initiative aims to support female farmers, who make up 40% of the agricultural workforce, by providing them with better access to resources, credit, extension services, and training. By doing so, it is expected to increase their yield by 20-30%. The project focuses on addressing the challenges faced by women farmers, such as limited land expansion opportunities and operating in high-risk, marginal areas. By also promoting technology adaptation and validation, the program seeks to enhance production management skills and contribute to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals 1 & 2.
Objective: This campaign aims to raise funds for input financing for female farmers, ultimately creating job opportunities and reducing poverty among underprivileged groups, specifically women.
